Lighting guerrilla

Light is a part of our everyday reality. The same goes for sound. The intention of the festival is to discover the ways in which these elements cohabitate in the city and explore the synergies between light, sound and public space together with international artists. The explored questions of this Years’ Lighting guerrilla are:

Can sound be represented by light, what is the sound a city makes and how to use sound to

influence a light image. The exhibiting artists used their works to uncover the relationship between light and sound in artistic installations, buildings and spaces and the relationship between the artistic light installation,

space and visitors. By placing these projects in the open, the festival wants to create temporary new

dimensions of the public space, and entice public to a creative and critical attitude

towards the common public space and the elements that define it, such as air, sound and art , focusing towards a new articulation of space.

Lighting guerrilla
Confrontations in public space are becoming more virulent. Protests gain traction, social tension is on the rise. Tension as a reaction to threat, an emotional roller coaster of strong convictions. The truth of convictions is shored up by shared emotional experience. Anger, loss of hope, feelings of remorse, anxiety; the emotional ties of mutuality.
In the event projected here worked Jiří Černický with the heat effect and a motif of reflection. He used the Iron – “a female” appliance touching intimate garments but at the same time a „male“ impersonal tool used as a mirror and a brush. He stepped back from the camera to the place where a fata morgana originated due to the thermal inversion.
