When I was choosing musicians whose profiles shouldn’t be missing at Artyčok.tv I placed emphasis on continuity, untriteness, self-will in beating path, so called „international exchange“ and effect. Martin Janíček is primarily known as a member of Petr Nikl’s circle and Orbis Pictus exhibitions which is a pity. He has spent many years working on the border between sculpture and sound art and his musical instruments and installations are often remarkably serious and intimate. He is a long-term solitaire of the Czech platform.
