Face To Face

The exhibition Face To Face was created without any complex intellectual calculuses. SPZ Gallery carries on with its project that an addressed artist invites a guest. Ondřej Brody – a husband of Jitka Mikulicová responded to her painting called Devil with his first sculpture marked on the wall by himself. Their common resignation to the concept and (un) adaptibility of the installation stress the work of Jitka Mikulicová as a specific and descriptive painting.

Face To Face
Throughout his life, Chalupecký promoted and defended new artistic trends and was interested in general questions of art, especially the meaning of art in modern society. He was a defender of art in connection with life. In today's terms, we could perhaps use the term activist or engaged art. He did not believe in the purely aesthetic function of art and culture in general.
