Rolf Simmen

Rolf Simmen was born in 1969 in Switzerland. He studied Slav languages in Basel. Since 2000 he has been working in the radio, first for the independent radio LoRa in Zurich where he became known for his program called “Repete” about central and eastern Europe. There he also broadcast his radio experiments “Langstrasse live” and “Barbarita, Brother & Dou “. In 2006 he worked in Mali in community radios where he presented his project “Soap Radio”. Since 2005 he has worked as a free lance journalist and translator from Czech in Berlin. He focuses on radio documentary programs and reports, mainly for the German and Swiss radio stations (Deutschlandradio, DRS2, SWR2). In 2012 he moved to Paris.
