Ondřej Merta studied in the multimedia studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Technology in Brno. He oscilates between fine art and music (e.g. his remarkable musical projects include Hugo & Zoe, Cave Art or Standuino Orchestra), he has also been developing his own musical instruments for a long time, the socalled Circuit bending. He founded Standuino with Stanislav Peloušek and both of them give lectures and organize workshops in the Czech Republic and abroad. In the series of thirteen audio-interviews recorded during the autumn 2013 Johana Švarcová spoke to artists who use in different ways „the non-visual element“ – sound. For some of the artists that she addressed, working with sound, sound art, development of instruments (hardware and software), radio art or sound installations have become their major field of interest. Other artists deal with sound or sound track (e.g. video) in their own specific ways.
