Mira Gáberová is a graduate of Daniel Fischer's Studio of Free Creation at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. She is the winner of the 2012 Oskar Čepan Award. In 2010-11, she ran the Chladnička exhibition space in her apartment, and since 2014 she has continued this project in Prague. Mira Gáberová moves between video art, performance, installation, photography, and drawing. Her work is consciously or unconsciously focused on transforming personal experiences into visual art. Recently, she has been intensely involved in participatory art. Mira Gáberová will present a collection of drawings, videos, and performances during the opening at Altán Klamovka. She finds inspiration in everyday situations, and the central theme is her relationship with her mother, who passed away a year ago. The drawings reflect the imprint or mirroring of the mother in her daughter. Mira Gáberová creates geometric-organic compositions of flowers, which she dedicates to her.
