Dabernig/Baladrán/Svoboda - SCREENOPOLIS

Austrian filmmaker Josef Dabernig maps summer cinemas in the Blansko area. Large projection screens await the projection of desires, memories, and obsessions. Zbyňek Baladrán reflects on the structures of dilapidated advertising spaces around the gallery. Despite the absence of their original meaning, they function as a visual interface and divert the gaze. Tomáš Svoboda's video is about a train journey to Blansko. It becomes a metaphor for the possibility of personal development and change. The exhibition is part of a series reflecting on local themes through contemporary art.

Marian Palla - SMRAD ŠKVAŘENÉHO FOUSU

Ceramics combined with conceptual thinking and Zen-like poems that reflect, with a touch of exaggeration, the meaning and confusion of his own work. Marian Palla is one of the leading figures in Czech visual art and is also known as a writer who, after twenty years, has now published his second collection of poetry, Smrad škvařeného fousu (The Smell of Burnt Beard). The exhibition will present both of these aspects of his work.

Dabernig/Baladrán/Svoboda - SCREENOPOLIS
Once upon a time, in an exhausted era in which nothing could apparently happen. Every exhibition is a small battle in the heat of the culture war. Individual skirmishes both consolidate and undermine constellations of opinions. Their rhythm and harmony is the heartbeat of a warring community. The culture war is both portend and sublimation. It is easy to escape its roar.
