Dawid Czycz was born in 1986 in Cracow. In the years 2002 -2006 he attended Artistic Secondary School (Liceum Plastyczne) in Cracow. From 2006 to 2011 he studied at the Academy of fine Arts in Cracow.He graduated in 2011 from the faculty of Painting with the M.A.degree. Dawid Czycz mainly deals with painting but also produces installations and video art. In his works he often makes use of metaphor in order to render certain problems. The subject theme of his art touches upon human existence in broad sense. Dawid creates a series of paintings in which he focuses directly on a given topic, building up a narrative around it. Dawid Czycz’s painting belongs to Polish new surrealism. His works could be seen in several individual and collective exhibitions.
