Manhattan: touched-untouched

The project Manhattan: nahmatán – nenahmatán (Manhattan: touched – untouched) is a lighthearted commentary on my inability to cross the ocean and at the same time the announcement of my decision to get ready for this dead.

The central point of the cycle is a 1:1 paraphrase of the notorious painting by Mondrian Victory Boogie Voogie – which while still unfinished – my variant originates by one single touch of the keyboard, being the work of computer pixelation. Fresh logopedic papers will be presented in a suspended manner interferring with English and German texts. A novelty – a commentary on work with a sound medium. Works from my place of residence in Královo Pole will form a scanty antipole, especially documentation of unaware that their flat will become a haven for Helán´s flourishing activities.

Artworks by Lukáš Prokop exceed simple categorization, as his work oscillates among various media: he deftly connects his work with video, graphic imaging, sculpture, photography, textile, writing or digital printing. By actively thematizing creative technological processes, Prokop’s work also intentionally problematizes his own authorial position as the sole producer of the artistic content/work.
