Marek Kvetan (1976) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (1995 – 2001) and at Faculty of Fine Arts, Brno University of Technology (1999). His artworks are part of the collections of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, National Gallery in Prague, State Gallery in Banská Bystrica and CBK Dordrecht, Netherlands. He is both a freelancer and a teacher in the Cabinet of Drawings at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Kvetan’s work is distinguished by strategies of manipulation, transformation and appropriation. Besides his art production, he is known for being a co-founder of Central European Institute of Contemporary Art (CEICA), Dart magazine, Multiplace festival and the international network Billboart Gallery Europe.
