RurArtMap

RurArtMap is the thematically focused map of art, cultural and ecological organizations, active in rural and remote areas, outside of main cultural centers, that each in its specific way intervene into its landscape, urban and social context.

Our aim is to develop a collaborative informational portal with an interactive map. It will presents rural art activities predominantly in Central Europe. Various portals promote art in cultural centres, but no portal is informing about rural-based initiatives, essential for the cultural, social, and ecological development of regions. The aim of RurArtMap is to strengthen the cultural awareness of the countryside and create a space for cultural presentations, a platform for cooperation and activity planning which would make the art and cultural activities in rural environment more accessible. It will be English-based, with translations to various other languages.

Dominik Lang has been involved in exhibition design for a long time. However, unlike other artists, his approach differs in the degree to which he emphasizes the creative aspects of the profession. The result often oscillates between exhibition design and autonomous installation while he himself admits that he deliberately violates this boundary. For this reason, he prefers the term "author of the exhibition's artistic design" or "author of the spatial design".
