In the heart of Madrid a ravaged forest lays calm in the aftermath of the storm. Shepherds, sheep and dogs roam among the branches of uprooted trees. Above them, the city resounds with birdsong and underneath we hear the murmurs of the herd. Old walls, new barriers enclose this territory. At night its borders dissolve on the hilltop. Under a black sky the contours of its inhabitants emerge. The land rings out and the city glimmers.
Biographies: Salka Tiziana (*1992) is a Spanish-German filmmaker. Her studies in Art, Anthropology and Film took her to Berlin, Buenos Aires and Hamburg, where she graduated from the HFBK University of Fine Arts. As a director she has made the films For The Time Being (2020) and All Sounds Within (2022) which were exhibited and awarded internationally. In 2025 she co-founded the Berlin-based production company FAUST.
Tom Otte (*1991) graduated from the HFBK University of Fine Arts in 2019 with the short film For Reasons Unknown, which won the German Film Critics' Award in 2020. Since then, he has photographed numerous feature-length and short films and has been a regular guest lecturer at the Bauhaus University in Weimar since 2023. Together with Salka Tiziana and Hannah Schwarz he founded the film production company FAUST.
Julia Ábalos Reznak (*1994) is a poet and shepherdess of transhumant sheep between the Sierra Norte and the urban park Casa de Campo in Madrid. Graduated in Philosophy at the Sorbonne in 2014, she went to live in the countryside in her twenties and has been living with animals ever since.
