The video deals with the issue of a total overload of commercials and other types of TV programmes that dominate American broadcasting and their influence on people. The power of television relies on our tendency to assume the truthfulness of stories told to us and on our willingness to project our own stories onto them. I decided to produce a new epic story of two people constructed solely from the pieces of adverts. By combining different scripts and characters, all combined into one “true story”, this tale captures the absurdity of films in a synthesis of the vast amounts of information and emotion that attack us from the TV screen. This work was developed at the University in Albuquerque in New Mexico with the support of Matt Brackbill, a student at this university.
