Jan Verwoert – kritik a kurátor, žije v Berlíně. V současné době přednáší v Rotterdamu (Piet Zwart Institute), Amsterdamu (De Appel Curatorial Programme) a v Tel Avivu (Hamidrasha School of Art).

Je redaktorem magazínu Frieze, přispívá do mnoha časopisů a publikací (Afterall, Metropolis M, Springerin; Promises of the Past ad.).

V roce 2006 vyšla v nakladatelství Afterall/MIT Press jeho kniha Bas Jan Ader – In Search of the Miraculous, v nedávné době vyšla sbírka jeho esejů Tell Me What You Want What You Really Really Want (Sternberg Press/ Piet ZwartInstitute, 2010).
